What do you see in this video clip?
Here’s what I get out of it.
In this video, we see a 5 year boy making a long bridge out of blocks. I thought for sure he had understood how to extend the bridge by using the columns as platforms since the previous 5 or so blocks used this technique. But when it becomes hard, he decides quickly to make a down ramp. This tells me that, at his age, the fantasy play is much more important than the puzzle and challenge of building. I believe, that at some point, the challenge of building is greater than the the fantasy play. We call it engineering!
